Gouf Custom

Original MSRP: 380
Toy Number: 15

One of my first gunpla kits was the Gouf Flight Type from 08th MS Team. That’s all I have for a connection to this toy honestly.
Gouf 01

Now the first thing you’ll notice about this Gouf is how it seems just a little bit lighter than it should. That’s because the plastic color used is shared with both the Z’Gok and the Re-Gz. It’s a bit of a shame and looks incredibly off, but you get used to it over time.
Gouf 02

Plus despite that, it is still a very nice looking figure.
Gouf 03

The Gouf’s articulation is quite good, and I actually discovered a new joint as I was taking these pictures that I’ve apparently missed for the past few years.
Gouf 04

The Gouf features the swing out ankle joints that I love so much. However in addition to that, you can actually pull that joint out further for an even wider range of motion. It’s insane to think such a tiny toy can do that, and it only further serves as testament to what a freaking great toy line this is.
Gouf 05

With those ankles, the Gouf can get into all sorts of dynamic poses and also really bust a move.
Gouf 06

Now the Gouf does come with calm hands, but there are so many awesome weapons in this set that I didn’t take any pictures with them. It comes with its giant sword along with its awesome gatling gun-shield.
Gouf 07

The shield is in segmented pieces just like the old high grade kit as well.
Gouf 08

Even though the weapon is so heavy, the figure has no trouble holding it up like a champ.

Gouf 10

Even in dynamic poses like that, it holds it quite well.
Gouf 11

The shield actually does break down into some smaller components, so you can have just the machine gun on the left arm if you’d like. Unfortunately, the sword does not store in the shield though.

The Gouf is a pleasant surprise of new Assault Kingdom engineering and a healthy stockpile of weapon. Even if it is the wrong color, this figure is absolutely essential in any collection.
