Hatsune Miku

I’m a fan of all things Nendoroid; that’s no surprise. When you mix Nendoroids – even the petit line – with Hatsune Miku, well, my wallet never stood a chance. This is the second of the new Petit Nendo Mikus I’ve purchased, and I have to say that she is lovely. 

Let’s have a look at her box! It got a little smashed in shipping, but everything inside was okay.

And here she is in her bag.

You put her together, and you’ve got an adorable little (almost sexy) Miku. 

For the most part, the paint and sculpt on her are amazing. The apple is shiny and bright, her hair is utterly lovely (and for once not in twin tails, as we’re use to seeing her). There’s a little paint chip missing on her pillow, which you can see from the side:

But that’s really it. From the back, her feet are dainty and cute.

Sometimes her two hair pieces don’t sit perfectly flush and you can see a little valley of connection.

Honestly, though, no one is looking at that. The gaze is pretty immediately drawn to the exposed midriff. 

Here’s a better look at her pillow:

You can see that there aren’t any connection pegs; she sits on the indentions on her pillow, which does a surprisingly good job of keeping her in place. 

There’s a depth to her gaze, and some vulnerability to the off-the-shoulder strap. This is an intimate Miku, even if it is a chibi, barely detailed figure. 

And that’s part of Good Smile’s sculpting genius, honestly. 

So do I love her? You bet. She’s simple yet loaded with emotion and a kind of knowing look that’s way too grown up for these guys. It all works very well. And considering how cheap she is (especially compared to full-size Nendos), she’s a no-brainer.
