1966 Batcycle: Elite Version
In 1966 Batman was one of the top shows, and a little known vehicle was the Batcycle.
Released in both regular and Elite formats by Hotwheels (Mattel), this review is of the 1:18 scale die-cast Elite version. Once gain the flat black, windowed, black display plate, and silver emblazoned Elite packaging is great.
Elite version, as my other reviews showcase, means detail and quality that far outshines the regular version.
As shown in the show and movie, the Batcycle has a detachable Robin sled. It shifts at the wheels, has a nice Robin icon, and nice quality. Negatives are that it is all plastic and does not “shoot” out or anything.
The $59.99 including shipping is a wonderful payoff (can get for like $45 right now)… look at the detail and quality.
This little-known bike has a nice spot in my collection (next to the Bandi Darknight BatPod).
It is still floating around the net and easy to be had, as already stated…avoid the yellow inlined boxes of the normal version, sometimes people list them ambiguously and when you open shipping box, you will be annoyed/disappointed.
