Jean-Nine
Jean-Nine (sometimes called Janine, Jeannine or Jean-Killer) is another character from the movie “Ultraman Zero The Movie: The Revenge of Belial” which featured the previously reviewed Jean-Bot.
In the movie, Jean-Nine is actually based on Jean-Bot and is initially named Jean-Killer but is redeemed in the movie and re-named Jean-Nine when he turns good.
Also, Like Jean-Bot, Jean-Nine is based on a Jumborg Ace character – this time Jumborg 9.
Now, the Jean-Bot I reviewed was an Ultra-Act figure, but this figure is your basic soft vinyl. Why? Well Bandai (in their infinite wisdom) decided to make Jean-Killer a Tamashii Web Exclusive. So if I want him, I need to be prepared to shell out the bucks. Still, as far as Ultra-Sofubi goes, he’s pretty sweet.
Jean-Nine comes sold with a tag and card that is easily removable. People who are concerned with value tend to leave the cards on, as down the road they are worth more. Me, I rip them off.
The figure is your standard Bandai soft vinyl. It’s cast in grey vinyl with red, yellow and grey paint applications. Paint is sharp and the figure is in a nice, neutral pose.
Articulation is just the basics – Arms and waist.
It’s a nice stand-in until I can track down the real thing.
