Kamen Rider Faiz is one of those shows that I’ve been meaning to watch for the longest time. I love the suits designs, the techy feel of the show, and the Orphenoch monster designs are super cool as well. Yet somehow I’ve managed to not get around to watching it after all this time. Well, maybe this Figuart will help me fix that.

Faiz Blaster form is the final form of Kamen Rider Faiz. Most Heisei Kamen Riders have a final form, and they are usually very big aesthetic changes, with lots of pointy parts, a different color scheme, and in general a more powered up look. Faiz Blaster just turns red and gets a jet pack and a giant laser gun.

As always, the sculpting on this Figuart is great. As a tech-based rider, Faiz Blaster features lots of tiny intricate pieces that are on his body. His head sculpt in particular is fantastic. His huge compound eyes look great in this yellow and the sculpted detail underneath just looks mesmerizing under the right light.

S.H. Figuarts Faiz Blaster feels very different from other Figuarts. Other Figuarts have a good bit of ABS plastic in them for a lot of the parts. Blaster feels like he’s composed mostly of a slightly rubbery PVC, similar to what Robot Damashii figures feel like, actually.

An annoying tripe about Faiz Blaster however, is the red they used for him. His helmet and armor are painted in a very glossy candy apple red, while the actually body is just molded in a red that does not match very well with the body. I would have liked if they had either gone with all the glossy red, or all sculpted red, just not both.

Articulation is unhindered and ludicrous as is to be expected with S.H. Figuarst now. A great note on the Kamen Rider Faiz body is that these figures feature the return of metal feet! For a while many Figuarts were using much cheaper ball jointed plastic feet. However it seems Bandai has decided to go back to metal feet. Definitely a huge plus for me.

Faiz Blaster form comes with a whole whack of accessories: four hands, two alternate belt pieces, two alternate jetpack pieces, and a whole bunch of Faiz Gear parts.

Two different Faiz Pointers are included, one for when the flashlight is clipped onto his belt, and a slightly larger one for when Faiz is prepping to do a rider kick.

The Faiz Shot is also included in a permanently sculpted hand. It looks neat, but the angle the hand is at makes it a bit hard to get a straight punching pose across. It does do a pretty mean Shoryuken though.

There are three different belt pieces to symbolize the belt in different modes. The first is empty to show when the Faiz Phone is plugged into the blaster. Second is the phone still in the belt, and third is the phone in the belt, with a tiny Faiz symbol on it, which is used when Faiz is getting ready to do a special attack. That’s a lot of different options, and I’m amazed that they were all included.

A tiny little Faiz Phone is included in just the regular cell phone mode too, so that Faiz Blaster can make a phone call in the middle of those important battles.

The main bulk of the accessories is the Faiz Blaster itself: a giant gun/laser sword. The detail on this weapon is pretty great, lots of sculpted and painted parts all over. This weapon is one of the few instances where accessories have moving parts. The Faiz Blaster can fold up on itself for its storage mode, and has a rotating handle as well.

Bandai added a lot of tiny little touches with the Faiz Gear on this Figuart. There is a tiny little Faiz Phone piece that you can plug into the Faiz Blaster just like they do in the show.

The Faiz Blaster is also able to turn into a sword as well. Just rotate the handle and switch the rifle bits for the sword blade and you are set to go.

Of course the blade is able to get bigger in the show as well, and an effect part is included to mimic that. It just pegs right in and really adds a bit of oomph to the weapon, making it come across as much more ridiculous and awesome.

The alternate jet pack pieces simply peg right in and are on ball joints, so they can freely swing over Blasters shoulders to shoot stuff, or be used to fly around.

Faiz Blaster is a very solid Figuart release. Despite some complaints with the different shades of red used, the figures inclusion of metal feel and loads of accessories make this one of the better Figuarts we’ve gotten in this past year. If you’re like me and think giant swords are awesome, get this Figuart.
