Kamen Rider Gaim Kachidoki Arms

Original MSRP: 5184

Kachidoki (literally “Shout of Victory”) Arms is Kamen Rider Gaim’s second mid-season upgrade. It’s the only Rider form in the entire series that’s not based on a fruit or nut. Instead, it has an incredibly cool samurai aesthetic that makes it my personal favorite from the show. It has been rendered into a S.H. Figuart that surpasses all my other experiences with the line.

The box looks great, and has the usual window to look in at the figure. I’m not sure if this is a recent development, but even the plastic tray has seen some upgrades, it’s now super easy to open and close.

03

Kachidoki Arms comes with two flags, a closed Kachidoki Lockseed, and the DJ Gun in both normal and Taiken modes.

04

05

Despite his bulk, Gaim is still the height of an average Figuart. It’s somewhat jarring to look at the back, which has much less on it.

06

07

Gaim’s head is the only place on Kachidoki Arms where you can see the orange (the fruit, not the color) motif of his base form show through.

08

The paint applications on the entire figure are impeccable, everything looks perfect.

The armor also looks great from any angle. The shoulder and skirt armor have plenty of articulation, but they still sometimes get in the way of movement. But with such a heavily armored design, that really can’t be helped.

12

The belt, the most important feature of any Kamen Rider, is more detailed than you’d ever think something of this size could be. The sword on the belt is even movable, which Gaim uses in the series to activate his finishing moves.

13

Next up, the accessories. The unopened Kachidoki Lockseed is an important addition, but it’s difficult to get Gaim to hold it properly.

14

Next up, the flags, which can either be attached to Gaim’s back or used as melee weapons. Two handles are provided for each flag, one for Kachidoki to hold, the other has a peg that attaches to his back armor.

15

16

With flags attached, Gaim has the regalia of a proud warrior, and gains some height too.

17

The flags are entirely plastic, and bear Gaim’s emblem on them.

18

19

20

Flags might be an unconventional weapon, but Kachidoki certainly looks fantastic wielding them. Just be careful when swapping to his other hands, they tend to fall off more often than they should.

22

23

24

Kachidoki Arms’s signature weapon, the DJ Gun. In the show, the silver wheel on the gun is a turntable, that Gaim can use to change the intensity of his attacks, thus the name. It’s a strange gimmick, but gimmicks sell toys. The opened Lock Seed on the belt can also be placed on the gun, which is another way Gaim initiates his final attacks.

The final accessory is the DJ Gun combined with Gaim’s Musou Saber, called Taiken Mode. This is by far my favorite weapon of the bunch, it’s an appropriately big weapon for a heavily armored warrior.

With Taiken Mode, Kamen Rider Gaim Kachidoki Arms is ready to take on any foe, and look amazing in any pose while doing it.

33

While Kachidoki is much fancier than the other Gaim designs, he still looks his best aside other Armored Riders, whether he be fighting against them or alongside them.

34

I could not recommend this Figuart more highly, it’s a great release for a great design. If you have any interest in high-quality figures, this one’s definitely for you.
