Kamen Rider Super-1
Okay, boys and girls. I’m going to let you in on a little secret: I’ve never seen Kamen Rider Super-1. I mean, sure, I saw him in the ZX TV Special, but I’ve never actually watched his show so I know very little about him. Well, I know he’s an astronaut who fancies gloves, but that’s about it. So I hope you’ll forgive me if I miss several of his signature poses that I don’t know about.
Super-1 is rendered really nicely here. The sculptwork is excellent, and the paint is spot on as always. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bad sculpt from a Figuart, so that makes sense. I really like the silver they used on his helmet and accents. It really makes him pop!
My only gripe is the thickness of the antennas. I wish they were a bit thinner, but I understand that it could’ve been an issue if they were to break or something. Plus, I think his tassels make him look like a ballerina.
This is a Figuart, so the real treat is the articulation. He can achieve any pose he needs to thanks to the generous amount of ball-joints and universal joints! He even has bicep swivels, which is a welcome addition to these Showa-era Kamen Rider figs!
Aside from his articulation, Super-1 comes with a MOUNTAIN of accessories! He comes with six pairs of silver hands that encompass everything he would ever need. Plus, he has all of the Five Hands represented here, including the Super Hands, Power Hands, Elek Hands, Radar Hands, and Thermal Hands. The Power Hands even come with an extra set of open hands so he can lift things.
Aside from all of that, he also comes with two different scarves, 2 sets of tassels, and a sword. I’m not sure where the sword comes in. Maybe someone will let me know in the comments.
Overall, Super-1 comes with everything he would ever need to do anything. Seriously, this is a great package that is well worth the cost. If you like the Showa-era Kamen Riders you really need to give this guy a chance. I’m sure you’ll be delighted.
