The 3DS game Kirby Planet Robobot introduces the Robobot Armor, a mechanical marvel that can absorb and use enemy powers just like him. This gashapon collection isn’t quite perfect, but for 300 yen each, it’s hard to beat.
The first series of the Robobo Armor Collection includes three different Armors and Kirby himself.
The Kirby figure wears the helmet with goggles he gets when he boards the Robobo Armor.
First up for the armors is Normal Mode. Even the tiny Kirby in the pilot’s seat is well detailed. The arms can move back and forth, but the feet are so small that moving the arms around much will make the figure impossible to balance.
Second up is Parasol mode, which allows the Robobo Armor to reach greater heights and stay aloft for longer. The basic body on all the Armors is the same in different colors, only the arms change.
The third is Cutter mode, which does exactly what it sounds like. The arms on this Armor are very loose and I’m growing more and more tempted to just glue them on.
While they’re not as nice as the upcoming Nendoroid Robobo Armor is bound to be, there’s something to be said for the fact that these are much cheaper. I’d definitely recommend these to anyone who likes Kirby or robots or both.
