Arcadia
There should be a competition for “least anime accurate but most fun” vintage toy. If there were, the Magnemo Arcadia would be right up there. There are so many gimmicks packed into this little toy, but so many inaccuracies. Remember that time the Arcadia drove around on tank treads? Me neither.
The box is fun, with anime-cel styled artwork on the front. The back showcases this and others in the line.
Inside – styro goodness.
There are so many features to this that we’re going to count them out.
1. Diecast metal
The entire hull, aside from the wing tips, is diecast.
2. Rolling wheels
Totally inaccurate chrome wheels to roll around on.
3. Moveable cannons
Each deck cannon can be rotated
4. Detachable nosecone
The nose is held in place with magnets.
5. Roller vehicle
This separate vehicle has rubber treads…
6. Folding wings…
7. Detachable ship
8. Missile launchers
9. Combines with Arcadia nosecone
9. Roller vehicle attaches to Arcadia with magnets
10. Rotating radar dish
The gear on the roller vehicle engages with a connection on the bottom of the Arcadia and spins the radar dish when rolling.
11. Missile launcher – press the black button to launch missile.
12. Total combination
13. Opening rear hatch
Overall this thing is just beautiful and fun. The wing tips break easily so be aware when looking for one!
