Minmei

If you are a Macross fan, Cm’s Corporation’s Macross Collection Minmei Super Series is a nice little collection of six classic Minmei figures you might want to pick up for the collection. What is so great about this set of figures is the creative poses and vignettes CM choose to recreate for this series. The figure sculpting and box art is outstanding and the figures themselves are a reasonable size considering they are gashapon.

This figured pictured here is from Macross: Do You Remember Love? (1984) and represents Minmei during the final act of the film during the “Quivering Heart” scenes of the film. The figure comes apart and a plastic stand is included to recreate Minmei floating in space ready to receive the lyrics to the song “Do You Remember Love?”

Just be careful not to lose her beret as it just sits on the head and does not snap in place, and if you are not careful you can easily lose it like I have a few times. A little white glue should do the trick and not ruin the plastic.

Some of these figures are now quite expensive in the collector market, especially the chase figure, but if you look carefully many sellers still have these in stock as I found this one for $5.00 from a dealer at Frank & Sons. A must pick up for the casual and serious Macross collector!
