Mister Freeze
I’m going to start by saying that 1. I am not a big DC comics fan and 2. I was never a He-Man fan. So logically, the combination of the two is something that I should not like. But Funko has pulled off an interesting re-imagining of the DC universe with their Primal Age line, and it’s done so well that you can’t help but like it, even just a little. Sure, some characters are more successful than others, but when you get them all together, and throw in a playset and battle animals, the whole thing is an 80s kid’s dream come true.
You can get the entire DC Primal Age line at Amazon.com
Each Primal Age figure comes on a blister card that is not unique to the figure, and is not resealable, so better off just opening them!
I love this figure. This works on so many levels. I think this one gets the most the idea of the Primal Age. You look at this figure, out of context, and it could easily be a He-Man figure. No overt nods to modern properties like the bat symbol or a banana on the chest. This one works in both contexts, and it’s a thing of beauty.
Mister Freeze comes with a bunch of accessories, including a helmet, ice gauntlet, sword and shield!
I love everything here. If I had any concern is that the helmet just sort of sits on the head, rather than being secured to the head, if you know what I mean? It’s a minor quibble for an otherwise awesome figure.
Thanks again to Funko for the review sample.
