Bumble
Takara Tomy’s MP-21 Bumble (Bumblebee) isn’t scheduled to be released until later this month. However because we here at CDX are really cool, we are able to bring you an advance look at this new addition to the Masterpiece line.
Vehicle mode is a beautifully painted Volkswagen Beetle.
The set comes with a spare tire that requires removel of the license plate. The license plate can then be stored into the spare tire piece before being attached.
Bumblebee’s weapon can be stored underneath. When not using the spare tire piece, it can also be stored underneath.
Scaling is a very important thing for Transformers fans. The engineers did their best to scale in vehicle mode. The result is a very tiny Volkswagen.
Due to it’s licensed nature, many details were included to give it a faithful VW Beetle look. The front has a one color tampo faction print. The headlights are molded in clear plastic.
The rear also features some really good detailing. The rear lenses are molded in translucent red plastic.
Included is the Spec Card for Bumblebee.
MP-10 Spike with Bumblebee.
Also included in this set is Spike in Exo-Suit. It’s a welcome addition that helps justify the price of this set.
Here’s how he scales in vehicle mode with MP-12 Lambor.
Here’s some other views of Spike.
The MP-10 Spike with Exo-Suit Spike. Many fans were wondering if the scaling betwwen these two would be kept in check but as you can see, the Exo-Suit Spike head is bigger.
Takara Spike with Impossible Toys Spike. While the Takara version is better designed, the Impossible toys version actually has eyes painted on it.

Transformation is simple but fun and well designed. Here is a look at the very basics to get an idea of whats going on.
The end result is very pleasing.
The spare tire can be attached to his back to recreate the times it is shown in the cartoon.
Included is a metallic blue-painted gun that attaches nicely to his hand. Unfortunately, the hands do not open like other Masterpiece toys, possibly due to its size. ANother downside is the holes in the forearm. Strangely enough, there are panels on his arm that could have been designed to fill in this hole but instead they just chill on the outside.
