Part five of the Nostalgic 80s Home moves to the kitchen, where our narrator is in the kitchen with his mother preparing for dinner.

“Mom, today at school we ran a marathon.” “Is that so? It must have been cold.” I tell my mom what happened during the day while eating sausages in the kitchen. Mom seems a bit busy preparing dinner. Right now, my job is taste-testing, but one day will I be the one doing cooking?

First up seems to be the dish the mother is cooking for dinner. The bot has a small wooden lid and the ingredients inside can be removed. I’m not 100% sure what the dish is but it seems to be a Daikon stew of some sort.

Possibly unfamiliar with most Americans, these are not the typical chopsticks you use for eating but rather a cooking utensil. I find them very handy for removing noodles out of a pot or frying foods.

This very 80s looking Tupperware has a removable lid and a dried squid inside.

I’m assuming this is a bottle of Sake.

My favorite thing in this set is a fish sausage that the narrator is snacking on. It’s probably got a weird consistency that may be unpleasant to Americans but I think they are delicious and I always try to get some at the Asian market. It seems like Fish is the most popular type in Japan, but my favorite is the pork flavored ones in China that I have never been able to find stateside.

The cutouts this time are a TV insert of a cooking show, paper craft cook book, and pot holder.

I really like the accessories that come in this set, and just because it has the fish sausage, it may possibly be my current favorite. I’ve really had a lot of fun with the Nostalgic 80s Home sets and they are wonderful little accessories for my figures. Can’t wait to open up the last three!
