Orchid Botanical Blocks
These Orchid Botanical Blocks are made by a company called Melakiy. I had not heard of them before, but I like building things, so I figure why not? Building flowers and such is a recent trend in the building block world, with all sorts of brands cashing in. They are an interesting way to get some flora in your house without the risk of killing it. Just don’t knock them over when you dust them!
The set consists of 729 pieces and is designed for ages 6 and up. You can get yours at Amazon here
Video Review
The set is fine. There were no missing parts, and the instructions were clear enough. The numbered baggies have no correlation to the steps in the instructions, so you must sort all the parts first before building. As a bonus, the set included not one but two fairy light kits. The lights were multi-colored and I thought they would clash with the kit, so I did not use them.
The detail at the base of the planter is nice, but some of it gets a little delicate. The big leaves tend to pop off if you bump into them.
I think the center of the orchid is a snake-man head colored in pink.
The base went tgether well, but its hollow in the middle. It’s not an issue but more of an FYI.
Out of the box, the orchids all face the same directions, but you can move them any way you want.
