Ortorion
Ortorion (W-07) and Kerberion (W-08) are two robots that combine to form Golemon (W-09). They were sold separately and as a set. Both toys are nearly identical, so I will review them both at once.
Basically, they share the same design aside from the head sculpts, the tail weapon and the colors. They each sport a different head for Golemon. Ortorion is magenta and Kerberion is purple.
In robot mode, The both are multi-headed dogs. Their names are derivative of characters from Greek mythology. Kerberion is a nod to Kerberos, the three headed dog who guarded Hades. Ortorion is a nod to Orthros, a two headed, serpent tailed dog. He was the guard-dog of the cattle of the giant Geryones, who was slain by Herakles. Each toy has articulated heads, legs and tails. Some of the heads have moving jaws.
Both toys have tank modes that look entirely made up. They’re just plain ugly. Ortorion has a white drill with a set of cannons on top. A button activates an LED in the dome. Kerberion has a spinning saw. Neither the drill or the saw have any kind of action feature – you just spin them by hand.
In addition, both toys can become power-up weapons for Gradion. They can attach to his chest via clips.
The real selling point of Ortorion and Kerberion is that they combine to form Golemon. Basically, each robot becomes one half of the robot. Each toy has it’s own head for Golemon as well. You can use one head for one version of the robot, and then turn him around, rotate the feet, switch the head, and voila! Another robot!
