Pumper

This is another review that I started years ago,  but never finished because I was never able to track down the little chrome gun that comes with Pumper. I got mine loose, so I don’t know if this was a Machine Robo or GoBots release, but either way, the toy is identical.

Pumper is just a firetruck. Its unlikely any specific make or model, just a vague generic representation of a Japanese firetruck from the early 80s. The ladder extends in three sections, and in vehicle mode there is supposed to be a chrome nozzle at the end.

Pumper has a suprisingly solid robot mode. The simple design is the architype of transforming vehicle design. Pull down the legs, pull out the arms, flip up the head. Simple but iconic.

Im not sure if this is an official mode, but the ladder is also used as a weapon. The small chrome gun would be placed in the hand, if I had one. It is only a few millimeters long, it may be one of the smallest accessories ever.
