Rahxephon
This is an injection molded model kit from the series Rahxephon, directed by legendary mecha designer, Izubuchi Yutaka, and produced by BONES.
The kit, when finished is about 6″ inches tall, and is a mix of ABS, rubber and clear plastic parts. No glue is required, but I do recommend a hobby knife to trim the sprue off the parts. Some parts are pre-painted, and others require decals, but once assembled, the model needs no paint to look good. The model shown here has some panel lining done to it with a Gundam marker.
Rahxephon comes with an additional “closed face” that can be swapped with the open face. Unfortunately, I seem to have lost mine.
I consider myself a novice model kit builder, and I found this model to be a breeze. I was particularly impressed with the use of rubber parts in unconventional places like the shins. Rahxephon is decently poseable when done and does not feel fragile at all.
Since a Rahxephon toy was never produced, this is the closest you’re going to get.
