The Red Ranger is iconic for fans of Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers. He was the first leader of the team of teenagers with attitude; plus he had a cool T-Rex motif for his Ranger Suit.
For the fans of the super deformed aesthetic and the Power Rangers, Bandai have introduced the Power Rangers into the Tamashii Buddies line.
The sculpt and paint on this figure are rather nice. All of the details of this iconic Zyuranger suit are well represented on this 3 ½ inch figure.
I am not very into the SD figures. However, I can definitely get behind Tamashii Buddies take on super deformed. The proportions of this figure are not as exaggerated as they are on SD lines from other companies. This results in a Tamashii Buddies Red Ranger that stands tall, ready for action.
This figure comes with five frame pieces and a backdrop.
You can use three pieces of the plastic frames to secure the backdrop to the rear of the figure. The backdrop for the Red Ranger is the T-rex that appears on his power coin.
You can also use the four longer frame pieces to support another Tamashii Buddy above the first.
In my case, I made Tamashii tower of Power Rangers characters.
Although not listed in the instructions on the back, you can also make a nice little pyramid of sorts.
The frames hold together rather well, so you don’t have to worry about your display falling apart if you choose to display your Tamashii buddies stacked on each other.
All in all, the Tamashii Buddies are a nice line of collectible SD figures. You can buy one as an adornment for your workspace or get a bunch and display them in a large tower of toys.
