RX-78-2 Gundam

Original MSRP: 6.99

I still can’t get over the fact that I can walk into any Target and pick up a Gundam kit. However, Gundam kits have always been a bit expensive, or a bit difficult to do, so they tend to intimidate new builders. Enter the ENTRY GRADE  line of model kits. These kits are simple, don’t require glue, paint, or clippers, and can be completed in under an hour. The RX-78-2 Gundam is available for under $10 and is a fantastic, super poseable kit. It’s a great entry point into the world of Gunpla.

It feels very Japanese, but all the important text is in English.

The kit is simple to build, and once you are done you get a wonderful, fully articulated figure. In fact I think the simplicity actually adds to the articulation.

The kit comes with a shield and a gun, no extra hands here.

If you get up close you can see minor sprue marks – so that’s up to you if you want to trim them off.

There’s a hole under the waist to attach a Tamashii stand.

The gun has a moveable sight, but no movable second handle.

The only real omission here are blades for the beam sabers, and some extra hands. For under $10 USD, I’m not complaining. In fact, I like it more than the Gundam Universe toys. Bring on more Entry Grade!
