Skyline Robo
Toy Number: MR-42
While he was known as Tail Pipe in the Gobots line, this is the Japanese Machine Robo release, known as Skyline Robo. It’s the same mold as the US release, but with some additional stickers.
The box has the rainbow motif that a lot of Bandai Boys toys had this year, indicating the transition from the Popy Brand to the Bandai Brand.
Robot mode is gorgeous, with cherry red plastic, a chrome head, and exposed metal parts.
The additional stickers for this release are the headlights, tail lights, and the DOHC stickers on the side.
Vehicle mode is based on a 1981-1983 Nissan Skyline 2000RS Turbo.
