Snake Eyes

Original MSRP: 230.00
Scale: 1:6

To be honest, I’m not even sure what this is. Yes, it is the legendary G.I. Joe character Snake Eyes, done by 1000toys, but it’s a collaboration with BAIT and Hasbro. BAIT apparently is an apparel company out of California.

This figure was initially offered at the 2016 San Diego Comic Con, but were also available through 1000toys shop and BAIT.

The box is slim, and it ships in a simple cardboard box.

The regular box is artfully decorated, with very little text.

No instructions are included, which was a little frustrating, but Snake Eyes is pretty self explanatory.

This 1/6 scale figure is a very different take on Snake Eyes, using the 1000 toys Synthetic Human body as a base. It’s got many different layers and different materials, along with a great assortment of weapons.

As they say, the devil is in the details. So lets check them out.

The head is on a full ball joint, and the mask features a bunch of subtle detailing. The mask is removable, but we’ll get to that in a bit. Around the neck is a padded collar, with goes under the heavy rubber armor.

The exposed arms are the same arms as the Synthetic Human, just with Snake Eyes’ Arashikage clan tattoo on the right shoulder.

The rigid armor on the body has a lot of great detail, including vents on the sides, but it’s so stiff that it limits torso movement.

A cloth bandolier clips around the chest and over the shoulder. It features three throwing blades, a removable knife, a shoulder pad, and a loop to hold the sword.

The knife handle is a little small for Snake Eyes to hold, so he comes with an additional handle that slips over the original.

The fabric belt has a working clip with three different attachments that just slide over the belt.

First you have an ammunition clip holder, but the clips don’t go in any weapon. Note mine had residue on it from the plastic that was wrapped around it during shipping.

The pack on the back comes stuffed with tissue to give it bulk, but I removed it. The clasp really works.

On the other hip you have a holder for two grenades which are removable and feature little pins.

Each arm has a set of clip on armor with filp out blades. The armor has to be clipped on just right for them to stay on properly. You can flip out one or both blades on either arm.

A machine gun (UZI?) comes strapped to the right leg in a holster. The weapon stays securely in place until needed. The holster is rigid and sturdy. A gun-holding hand is included.

Other variant hands are included, including open hands:

And sword holding hands:

The sword is a firm black plastic with the Arashikage logo on the hilt. The sword straps to the back with an adjustable cloth loop that attaches to the bandolier.

I’ve removed the belt and the bandolier for these shots to show a more svelte looking figure. Plus I keep knocking things off of the belts.

I mentioned earlier that the helmet is removable. It’s a two-part helmet which you have to remove the back section first, then carefully remove the front. I found that on the first try I actually removed the head, and then had to fish out the pieces from inside the helmet.

Underneath the helmet is the base skull from the Synthetic Humanoid, only in black! It’s amazingly creepy and wonderful.

The jaw opens, making it even creepier.

I’m totally sold on the idea that under Snake Eye’s mask is a Synthetic Humanoid. It’s perfect, and I think i’ll keep it displayed this way.
