Sonic Meteor
I made a bit of a mistake when I bought this Sonic Meteor used, and did not notice that a small part was missing. Note on the box art below there is a blue section between the engines. This section is missing, but does not really affect transformation.
Sonic Meteor is not a great toy on it’s own, but it adds play value to the other two vehicles in the series.
Sonic Meteor is a modular jet with a canister underneath which can carry and launch a Tomica vehicle. In this case the canister feels like an afterthought, like some mechanism must be included to interact with a small vehicle for it to be part of the line.
The jet has an opening cockpit with space for one Tomica figure, and the front also acts as its own little ship when detached. The wings sweep forward and back and the blue sections can separate and fan out. There’s a lot of rubber in this toy – the wing swords, the boue parts of the wing and some of the tail sections are all rubber.
Sonic Meteor can combine with Sonic Arrow to form Sonic Wing Arrow
Sonic Meteor can combine with Sonic Breaker to form Sonic Wing Breaker
Sonic Breaker can combine with both Sonic Arrow and Sonic Meteor to form a giant vehicle called Perfect Victory Sonic.
The three can also combine into robot form to make the impressive Perfect Rising Sonic!
This robot stands 16 inches tall with a 20-inch wingspan! However it is a bit top heavy and prone to toppling over.
The rubber wing blades become swords in this mode!
It’s a beast of a toy when all three are combined. Interestingly, this three ship combination is not mentioned on any packaging or instructions that come with the toy. There was mention of it in the sales promotional materials though.
Thats all for this combination, but stay tuned for more Tomica toys in the future!
