SpaceGodzilla
SpaceGodzilla comes from yet another Godzilla movie I haven’t seen, Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla (1994). Apparently he is a clone of Godzilla mixed with an alien. I’ve really been slacking when it comes to catching up on the 90s Godzilla movies, but so far none of them have really moved me the way the classic Godzilla movies from the 60s and 70s did. Still, when you see a Godzilla vinyl for sale in K-mart, you are almost obligated to buy it.
Fortunately, SpaceGodzilla is a really nice vinyl. The paint and sculpt are marvelous. The tail must be one of the longest tails in the line – it hast to be twisted in 2 different places to get it to fit into the box.
Articulation is not too bad for a vinyl. The toy is moveable at the head, arms, legs and in 2 places on the tail. The toy is cast in an almost black vinyl, with red, white, orange and yellow paint. The eyes are painted yellow on this toy, and the teeth are nicely detailed.
As far as I can tell, this toy is an exclusive to the US market. I haven’t been able to find this toy as a Japanese release. There have been Japanese SpaceGodzilla vinyls, but they have a different sculpt and paintjob.
