Super Jumping Mario
Super Jumping Mario is a deluxe figure from Jakks Pacific World of Nintendo line.
Mario stands roughly 10 inches tall and is made of plastic with cloth clothing.
Mario’s face is painted well enough and all of his stitching is very clean. It didn’t have any hanging threads or errors that I could find.
Mario doesn’t feature an real articulation to speak of, but his arms are soft can can flex.
Opening the back of the coveralls will expose the battery port. Four AAA batteries come pre-installed. He has 3 modes, on, off, and demo.
As the name implies, Mario will jump and make sounds when his head is pressed down. The sounds include Bowser’s theme with lost life sound effect, Standard world 1:1 theme with item pick up sounds and level completion theme, underworld theme with warp pipe sound effect and coin pick up, and star theme. The jumping gimmick is what really sells this toy, I’ve had it on my desk for a week or so and everyone that sees it gets a real kick out of it, except for my cats that think it’s possessed by satan. In fact I had to fight my kids for it just so that I could take pictures and make the review video.
Mario is a lot of fun, and looks great sitting on my desk at $39.99, it’s not a toy that most people are going to buy on a whim. At $20 or $30 this would be an easy purchase, but at the current retail price, its definitely an item for dedicated Nintendo fans.
