Cigarette Box Super Robots

Here’s a weird one. These guys come out of China where i’ve heard smoking is actually a part of the food pyramid. We’re used to lighter robots from Japan with Gold Lightan, but these up the ante with Cigarette box robots.

I got these guys loose on eBay, so I don’t know their exact origin, but I have seen a big carded version with several on a single card.

I’ve only got the two, but there are others.

Each comes with some bland markings like we would expect third-world cigarettes to have. I like the fact that they have the big warnings on the front. There’s a joke about cancer and the plastic quality here I think.

The backs are bland and uninspired.

These toys feel like they could have been Happy Meal toys if it weren’t for the subject matter.

Transformation is simple. Flip open the top, unfold the feathers in a fan-like motion.

And there you go. They looked a lot more interesting online.

Both are the same mold, just different colors.

But hey, they pair well with your lighter robots!
