Tron Select SDCC 2021 Exclusive Boxed Set

I previously reviewed Diamond Select Tron figures, and while I liked them, I really longed for versions that felt like the Tron toys I had as a kid. Well Diamond listened and released this 3-pack as a SDCC exclusive. It was also offered through select retailers so while I did not attend SDCC, I was able to get a set.

The package is large, with all three figures laid out on blister cards. There’s a black backer with little clips to keep all the figures in place. While it is a nice display, there was no way those figures were staying in the package.

The cards are reminiscent of the classic TOMY cardbacks, just scaled up and designed to reflect these modern figures.

So, How do the colors match up with the originals? Pretty damn good.

These things are amazing. They look like they are sculpted out of Jolly Rancher candies. They are exactaly the same sculpt as the originals, and as such, still can’t hold the damn identity discs (which glow, by the way). 

Still, they are a welcome addition to the Tron shelf
