This mini vinyl is another borderline SD vinyl toy, made before the idea of SD got trendy. Perhaps it is the missing link?
The toy is cast in two different colors with Red, white, blue and gold paint. The vinyl is firm and rich in color. The head and torso are molded in grey vinyl, with the torso being painted red. The arms, legs and waist are red vinyl with white paint.
Ultraman Leo is articulated at the head, arms and waist, typical of mini-vinyl of the time.
Dare I say, little Leo looks… cute? The oversized head and exaggerated features must have really appealed to kids at the time. Seeing as how this was made almost 35 years ago, it’s held up well.
This is another Tokyo Flea Market find, cost me 100 yen. Can’t beat that.
