The Big Special Crane Vehicle is the companion piece to the Big Special Work Vehicle 02 reviewed here. I reviewed that one first because that's the one I got first, and then had to hunt this one down. This one is much harder to find, and I had to resort to getting a loose one with a missing accessory.

In essence, its a big crane truck, but it's the combination with the other vehicle that makes it shine.

It's a big vehicle, measuring 10" long.

The big gimmick of course here is the crane. It rotates, extends, and can raise or lower the claw with a crank at the base. There's also a cockpit for a driver (not included)

The part I am missing is a small red part that sits in the bay of the vehicle that can be used to lift vehicles.

The claw can also lift vehicles on its own.

The supports swing out on the side, but don't actually touch the ground. Both cockpits open in the front.

Pressing the red button on top opens the cockpit and launches a vehicle that you can store inside.

There's also a back door for storing a vehicle, but this one does not launch.

So that's Big Special Crane Vehicle. But the real joy is the combination with the two vehicles. First you split the Big Special Work Vehicle in Half:

Then attach to the side of Big Special Crane Vehicle!

Now, press the central red button and all three vehicle launchers activate!

And of course, it can combine with other Tomica vehicles to make even crazier contraptions. The only limitation is your imagination (and your wallet).
